Allport Production Company, Inc. offers a variety of cloud/on-line services to help you enhance and/or grow your business. We have partnered with several technology providers to offer you an affordable, professional and efficient product. We’ll always do our best to fulfill your needs and meet your expectations, so we like to have things written down in contracts so that we both know what’s what, who should do what and when, and what will happen if something goes wrong. In our contracts, you won’t find any complicated legal terms or long passages of unreadable text. We've no desire to trick you into signing something that you might later regret. What we do want is what’s best for both parties, now and in the future.
Around 1994, our founder Jesse Allport discovered his passion for desktop publishing. Serving as editor of his high school yearbook staff and a few years later on the college newspaper staff, he spent the majority of his time designing layouts for content and pictures to be published in paper/book formats. This lead him in 1997 to officially start Allport Publishing Company (AllportPC) and start offering flyer's, postcards, greeting cards and business cards to local business in his hometown of Columbus Georgia. The "90's Internet rise and fall" didn't discourage Jesse, he was still interested in designing layouts and set off to design his very first site (allportpc.com) to showcase some of his work, thus beginning the evolution of where we are today.
In 1999, after selling a few websites to local companies and enhancing his HTML skills, Jesse decided to officially start offering web design. Reseller web hosting was just starting to take off around that time and Jesse realized that he was handling all the support between his clients and hosting companies and decided to capitalize on that by launching hosting services. The problem was, Jesse didn't have the money needed to start a hosting company. The market back then was much different, they required large upfront deposits. Jesse found two partners and a silent investor and in 2000 officially launched HostingUBetter.com as separate business with Jesse leading the company. After nearly a year of operation, HostingUBetter, also known as TheHUB, was making profit, but not enough to satisfy the partners or investor. Jesse knew that this was an essential part of his business and was able to sell personal assets and buy out his partners and investor. This lead to a spin off into two new companies called Columbus Hosting and Columbus Designs in 2001 and a rename of the "PC" in AllportPC to be Allport Production Company to serve as the core company.
Around 2003, Columbus Hosting had over 1000 hosting customers, many of which were customers of other web designers. These web designers started getting the same urge to be a hosting reseller and started moving customers away from AllportPC. We knew it was time to evolve and we started leasing our own servers and offering Reseller Web Hosting in an effort to retain and grow our customer base. This change allowed our customer base to grow to over 2500 hosting customers and over 4000 domain registrations.
In 2008, Jesse relocated his family to North Georgia and AllportPC now resides in Cumming, Georgia in Forsyth County. AllportPC has undergone several changes over the years to continually evolve the company and the skills of our staff. We have also acquired or started several other companies/sites over the years that were in-line with our vision at the time to include: APFOC, Computer Care, Fun-A-Man-Ics, FunSurge, Valley Classified Ads, Badger Hosting, TheHub.net, GetAWebsiteNow.com, LaunchAWebsite.com, JMEGH, Bulldawg Productions, BlackCemeteries.com, CartMD.com, ECommerceGateway.net, CWDA Members and Poetry Outlook. While some of these companies have since been closed or sold, we continue to look for opportunities to expand our business.
Around 2010, AllportPC shit down our reseller services as the market had become too competitive to match the big companies like GoDaddy. For a couple of years after that, we focused on web hosting only and offered design and programming on the side. As the market continually changes and becomes more competitive, we again had to restructure to refocus on our passion, Web Design. Our latest changes still include Web Hosting, but only as an Add-On to our existing services instead of as our core product. We know there are many options out there now for web design, but we hope our skill, price, experience and attention to detail will prove to keep us in the game.
